Julia's mother is an art teacher, her dad plays saxophone. She has an older brother named Sam and a pet dog, too, "Good Morning America" reported.

As for Julia, she was introduced in 2015 online and 2017 on the show, according to "Today," and is described by fellow Muppet Elmo, "Julia has autism and that makes Julia different ... But it's really cool that everybody's a little bit different but same too. And Elmo and Julia have a lot in common, and we have a lot of fun together."
One of the vice presidents for the nonprofit that is connected to "Sesame Street," told "Good Morning America" she hopes Julia's family story can help other families with autism.
"We know families that have children on the spectrum, they face unique challenges. But more importantly, there's so much they share," Jeanette Betancourt told "Good Morning America."
Last year, the Sesame Place theme park was the first to get autism certification.
