The long-awaited final trailer for "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" has been released.

The preview of the movie that comes out in less than 60 days was shown as the Monday Night Football game was getting started.

The date is significant for fans of the epic franchise. Monday would have been Carrie Fisher's 63rd birthday. She died in 2016 at the age of 60.

Director JJ Abrams promised fans that "The Rise of Skywalker" will bring the saga started in 1977 to a close.

"So if years from now, someone's watching all these movies, all nine of them, they're watching a story that is as cohesive as possible," Abrams told Entertainment Weekly.

After the trailer airs, fans can purchase tickets online. When ticket presales began for "Star Wars: Force Awakens" in 2015, sites crashed because of all of the traffic. It happened again in April when presales opened for "Avengers: Endgame," Deadline reported.

"Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" officially opens Dec. 20 but some markets will have showings Dec. 19.
