A Tennessee man is accused of killing a woman while having sex at his Knoxville apartment, authorities said.

Shawn Case, 27, of Knoxville, was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the Friday death of 32-year-old Brittany Nicole Webb, the Knoxville News Sentinel reported.

According to an arrest warrant by Knoxville Police Department investigator Preston Whillock, Knoxville police were called to the Ridgebrook Apartments and found Webb dead inside one of the units, WATE-TV reported. Case and Webb were allegedly taking drugs in the apartment early Friday, when they began having intercourse between 3 and 5 a.m., the warrant said. During that time, Case began hitting her, the News Sentinel reported.

When police arrived around 7 a.m., Case refused to leave the apartment, the newspaper reported. After two hours of negotiation, Case came outside and was taken to police headquarters, according to the News Sentinel. Police found Webb's body after entering the apartment.

Police said Webb died of sharp force and blunt force trauma, WBIR reported.

According to Whillock’s report, Case waived his right to remain silent and gave the investigator a “full confession.”

Case is being held in the Knox County Detention Center, with his bail set at $1 million, WATE reported.
