Update 3:32 p.m. EST Dec. 11: Police said the case is one of murder-suicide. But they continue to investigate, KRGV reported.
Original report: According to KVEO and KRGV, Edinburg police responded to a Kuhn Street apartment Tuesday morning after receiving a 911 call about a dead woman inside the home. After they arrived, officers found the boy and the bodies of four adults, who appeared to have gunshot wounds, police Chief Cesar Torres said in a news conference.

Police have not released the names of the dead, who include a mother, daughter, the boyfriend of one of the women and a male "home provider," Torres said.
"At this time, we are still investigating if this incident was a murder or a murder-suicide," he added.
Torres also told reporters that the "toddler is currently being monitored and is in safe hands," KVEO reported.
