The boy was found near a gas station, walking in temperatures that soared close to 100 degrees, KTRK reported.
Brown was found an hour later by authorities with the Harris County Precinct 4 office, the television station reported. She told police she had not contacted police because she was carrying an invalid Texas driver's license, according to KTRK.
Officials with Child Protective Services were contacted, and the boy was released to a guardian, the Chronicle reported.
