Tinder to roll out panic alarm in app

Match Group, the parent company of Tinder, is joining Noonlight, which can track users and alerts police if there is a safety concern.

Users will also be able to share their location with friends, according to CNN.

The option will be rolled out to U.S. Tinder users by the end of the month before Match Group releases it to its other dating apps. It will be found in the area called Safety Center, CNN reported.

A badge can be added to users who opt into the Noonlight service. Company officials compared the badge to a lawn sign used to alert that a home has a security system, The Wall Street Journal reported.

This is the first time Tinder will monitor its users’ safety in real time.
