The Greene County Peace Officers Association will conduct a Taser demonstration during a Greene County High School football game Sept. 13, KCCI reported. Ten people have volunteered to be shocked by the device; the person who raises the most money will get the "jolting" honors.
The money will go toward the Greene County Peace Officers Association’s community enrichment programs, the television station reported.
"We thought it'd be a good way to get the community involved, and it's definitely working," Capt. Heath Enns, of the Jefferson Police Department, told KCCI.
Enns said all 10 volunteers have signed a waiver form from Axon, a tasering manufacturing company, according to Raccoon Valley Radio.
"Whenever law enforcement or anyone in the community asks for a favor, I usually just say, 'Yes,' and it probably didn't set in for two days, and I thought, 'What did I just volunteer for?'" Greene County High School Principal Brian Phillips told KCCI.
If he raises enough money by the Sept. 12 deadline, Phillips will find out.
