A waterspout swept across Florida's Sunshine Skyway bridge Sunday, slamming a U.S. Postal Service tractor-trailer and sending debris flying into Tampa Bay.
According to Tampa's WTVT, Robert Gudes was fishing nearby when the waterspout formed at 9:45 a.m. near the south end of the bridge.
"It just started getting more intense, debris everywhere," he told WTVT. "I tried to pick up my buckets and run. The next thing I hear is a boom."
Lee Dove saw the waterspout approach the mail truck.
"The truck fell over on the side and then it flipped over on its wheels," Dove told WTVT.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, driver Randall J. Leaver, 56, was not hurt. The waterspout also hit a construction site and overturned a boat, but no injuries were reported.
