A Michigan woman bit off an inch of a man’s tongue while they were kissing at his apartment Tuesday, police said.

Center Line police said Youlette Wedgeworth, 52, was visiting her friend at his apartment when they engaged in consensual kissing and for an unknown reason, she bit off his tongue, WDIV reported.

Police were called to the apartment and found the man's tongue in a bedroom. He was taken to a hospital, WXYZ reported.

"I believe this is the first case of this nature in my 27 years in the prosecutor's office," Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith told WDIV.

Wedgeworth was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, WDIV reported. She is being held on $25,000 bail.
