2-year-old boy shot, killed at Missouri apartment complex, police say

According to KCTV, police arrived at the Creeks of Gladstone Apartments, located on Northeast 59th Terrace in Gladstone, about 6 p.m. Tuesday to find a toddler with a gunshot wound. Emergency responders took the victim to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead, the Kansas City Star reported.

Gladstone police have not publicly identified the boy or said who may have fired the fatal shot, KSHB reported. Although other people were inside the home at the time, the toddler was the only child there, authorities said.

So far, nobody has been arrested in connection with the case, and officials are not seeking any suspects, the Star reported, The investigation is ongoing.
