Rex said winemaking and spirits-making runs in his family, and he and Flory collaborated on plans after surveying friends and acquaintances on what types of wines they like. The product line includes “Lock, Stock and Berries,” made from blueberries, blackberries and red raspberries that Rex mashes himself; “Forbidden Apple;” “Bluesberry” wine from blueberries; and a white-grape wine called “She Said Yes.” Coming in August will be “El Loco,” a wine made from limes that Rex likened to a margarita; and later this fall, El Nino, made from pineapple, mango, papaya and strawberry.
Retail outlets that carry A.R Winery’s wines include Miami Valley Wine & Spirits in Tipp City and the IGA stores in West Milton and Greenville.
