“We’ve taken our quicklube business and expanded it,” said Chris Pfefferle, president of the family-owned and operated business. “It’s more of a satellite location than a whole third location because we don’t do everything down there that we do at the original Nilles Road location.”
Instead, the new venture provides 10-minute oil changes, repairs flat tires, changes fluids and installs new tires, light bulbs and wiper blades.
“We’re not replacing engines (at the new place) by any means,” Pfefferle said.
Pfefferle Quick Lube features four oil change bays and a fifth bay for tire rotations, he said.
Oil changes start at $24.99, but various manufacturers’ discounts typically take about $5 off that price, Pfefferle said.
Removing basic maintainence from its original Nilles Road location means drastically cutting the wait times for not only full-service repairs but also oil changes, he said.
“Our customers are loyal to the point that sometimes they got in and out in a half hour (for oil changes), but most times the wait was 45 minutes to an hour and 15 minutes,” Pfefferle said. “Now those same people are getting in and out the door in 10 minutes.”
Todd Foster, who has been a Pfefferle Tire & Auto customer since it first opened 18 years ago, said Pfefferle Quick Lube “is going to be huge.”
“On an ongoing basis, being able to get in and get out quickly is paramount to us,” Foster said. “My wife and I both work and we just don’t have the time to sit around all day. The fact that you can get in and out in 10 or 15 minutes is pretty amazing to me.”
A location at 990 Main St. in Hamilton, which opened in 2010, will continue to offer both full-service repairs, plus oil changes and tire maintenance, according to Pfefferle.
