New details on restaurants, retail planned for Austin Landing

A nearly 10,000 square foot building in Austin Landing is being proposed near Kohls. Miami Twp. trustees are scheduled to consider the plan next week. NICK BLIZZARD/STAFF

A new Austin Landing building expected to bring more restaurants and retail business is a step away from approval.

The 9,998 square foot structure – to house four tenants — being proposed just southwest of Kohl’s in an area largely occupied now by parking spaces.

The proposal is set to go to Miami Twp. trustees next week after zoning commissioners signed off on the plan Tuesday night.

The site will be “a combination of restaurants and retail,” said Larry Dillin, president of VisCap Development , Austin Landing’s developer.

Dillin said he is not yet ready to disclose what businesses will occupy the space.
