The company has about 25 production associate positions in the Fairfield area for all shifts with approximately starting salary of between $13 and $14.50 an hour.

We posed a series of questions to Milam to determine some of the challenges facing job seekers, as well as the company. Here’s what he had to say.
Q: What’s the biggest challenge facing your company and others in the industry and how do you seek to address that challenge?
“Most people that want to work are already working, so we need to attract those people that are maybe working less desirable jobs (with) worse hours, lower pay, etcetera.”
Q: What’s the most prevalent roadblock that your company faces when it comes to finding candidates to hire and what can job seekers do to remedy that situation?
“Job seekers have so many options that when an employer gets a candidate. We have to contact … that person ASAP or they are gone. We also have to be more engaged to our current associates so that we are proactive in retention as that is the other half of the battle. Employers have to do more than just pay more, they need to address schedules and be open to being more flexible with hours. This will reduce turnover.

Q: Some job seekers are concerned about the limits of advancement within a company or an industry. To what degree can your business help find opportunities that would lead to employees being promoted to greater positions within a company?
A: “We do testimonials of the associates of ours that have started as a temp but through hard work and performance, were hired on and then promoted by our clients. We promote the long term opportunity that each of our clients offer: pay raise, benefits, upward mobility and more.”
