I was reading about the guy's recent trip to Smith Park to fish with his family. I also had a recent trip to Smith Park to fish with my husband and my son. Besides all the duck droppings and trash everywhere, the trees that were knocked over during the wind storm are still out there. We couldn't even fish for getting snagged in the lake. Isn't there anyone who can come and get all the dead trees out of the water so people can fish?
I read in Sound Off that someone thinks anyone who has tattoos is a freak. I think they need to recant their statement. I am a nurse, and I have tattoos. Does that make me a freak? I save lives every day. What about your local judge who has a tattoo? Does that make him a freak? I don't think so. How about anyone who runs for office who has a tattoo? Does that make them a freak? I guess because I ride a motorcycle, I'm a freak, too. But remember — when your family needs help — I'm a nurse. It might be your family member I'm saving; but if you see my tattoo, are you going to tell me I am a freak? I don't think so. ...
I've recently noticed in the classified section that the city of Monroe is looking for a police officer between the ages of 21 and 35. Isn't that age discrimination? I'm sure there are lots of wonderful police officers in their early 40s and 50s — maybe 60s — who have several years of work left, and they don't even have a chance to apply. Doesn't sound fair to me.
