Ohio ranks low in educated states: See state rankings

Ohio has been ranked as one of the least educated states in the country.

Ohio was ranked better than just 16 other states, according to a new report out today from personal finance website WalletHub.

Ohio came in at No. 35 in the ranking, just behind No. 34 South Dakota and No. 33 Georgia and far behind Massachusetts, which took the title of most educated state in America.

The ranking was mainly based on two factors. States were given a score for their educational attainment and for their quality of education.

Ohio scored near the bottom for educational attainment but ranked in the top 25 for its quality of education, according to WalletHub.

The top five most educated states, after Massachusetts, were Maryland, Connecticut, Vermont and Colorado. The five least educated states were Mississippi, West Virginia, Louisiana, Arkansas and Alabama, according to WalletHub’s ranking.
