His cause and manner of death have not been determined at this time.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said in a release that at 11:56 p.m., deputies responded to Route 725 and McEwen Road in Washington Twp. on a report of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian.
Deputies found a 29-year-old African American man, the release said, who had been hit by a white car which was traveling east on Route 725.
Medics took the man, later identified as Thomas, to Southview Hospital, where he died, the sheriff’s office said.
This crash remains under investigation by the Traffic Services Unit of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, according to the release.
