Trump, Clinton on readers’ minds

SPEAKUP: Quick takes from our readers

It takes a dishonest and shallow person to use Hilary Clinton to justify a vote for Donald Trump. If you vote for Trump, you agree with him and basically you are Donald Trump. Trumpites for a Gross America include sad sacks like Rob Portman, John McCain, Bobby Jindel, Mitch McConnell and many other Republicans searching for a backbone. Man-up, weaklings!

It's becoming more obvious every day that the reason Hillary Clinton isn't worried about the FBI investigation of her is that she knows that all of the incriminating evidence about her has already been destroyed.

The Republican Party that has always bragged about the morals and the religion of their agenda have nominated a person that when he speaks the words that come out are completely the opposite to everything the Republicans say they believe, yet most of them seem willingly to support Donald Trump.

President Obama's approval is really high at the present time mostly due to the extreme rhetoric of the Republican presidential candidate for President of the United States of America — proving that Donald Trump is not viewed favorably by a majority of the public.

The so-called scandals about presidential candidate Hillary Clinton about Benghazi and emails have been going on too long with no end in sight — contrasted to the 9-11 attack, where an independent commission was appointed to investigate that. The same should have been done in this matter, but that would have taken the politics out the equation — the thing the Republicans did not want to happen.

The party of Reagan is on thin ice while the party of Trump is on a downhill glide. Kudos to Paul Ryan as he cleverly positions himself, after the coming Donald Trump debacle, for POTUS in 2020. The party of Reagan will rise again via Paul Ryan.

Spring Democracy is revitalizing America. The people are speaking and voting in record numbers. Voters will not be swayed by pundits prophesy, intellectual procrastinators, skewed polling and bias news media. The Democracy process is working and the American dream is still alive. Ronald Reagan always said to "trust the people."

Democrats and independents cannot afford to take the Republican candidate Donald Trump lightly, for there are a lot of people believe everything this man says in addition to the number of partisan and low-informed voters.

Most Republicans will wait to see which way the wind is blowing before they decide whether to support Donald Trump or speak out against him.

With the populace so enamored of celebrity politicians, Donald Trump may as well forget John Kasich as VP and select Tom Selleck, Clint Eastwood, Gary Sinise, or some other tough guy hunk for his running mate to complete the cycle of what is the most inane, nonsensical and hopeless of all political years.

Former speech writer for John McCain says he is backing Hillary Clinton, and he will be welcomed and the Democratic Party will appreciate the support of all Republicans that want to do the same.

Will the USA survive a Trump presidency? Absolutely, after an unbelievable amount of hardship physically and financially. The USA will regroup and survive just as Germany, Italy and Spain did many years ago. Authoritarians always wreak havoc, but good will overcome evil.
