Partly sunny, cold today; Slight chance of rain, snow Friday night

Today will be partly sunny and cold, with a high of around 40 degrees and some light wind, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

We will see a little more clouds in the evening, but they should decrease again overnight for partly sunny skies Friday morning. Overnight lows will fall to around 33 degrees.

On Friday, temperatures will rise slightly, with a high near 46 degrees. After night falls, the NWS said that there will be a slight chance of rain beginning soon after dark, which will linger through Saturday.

However, the NWS said that there is still uncertainty as to how low-pressure systems will develop over the weekend and settled for a prediction of rain chances drying out heading into Sunday.

Saturday’s forecast calls for a slight chance of snow in the morning in addition to rain chances, with another slight chance of snow before precipitation chances disappear after dark.

Skies will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 41 degrees and a low of around 28 degrees.

For Sunday, the NWS predicted partly sunny skies and a high of around 39 degrees, followed by a mostly cloudy night with a low of around 27 degrees.
