Talking to an emergency dispatcher, the boy said the girl was barely moving but breathing. Asked where the firearm came from, he said, “I don’t know! I don’t know her house!”
In the background, the girl can be heard asking how far away emergency responders were, then telling the operator she was dying.
When the operator asked the girl “Who did this?” the injured teen lethargically said, “Me,” and went on to confirm that the shooting was accidental.
The girl also answered the operator’s question as to where the firearm came — a drawer — and what was going on when it went off: “I was just playing around,” she said.

A teenage girl who accidentally shot herself Friday in a West Chester Twp. home reportedly did so with a handgun.
The 15-year-old discharged the weapon around 8 p.m. in a home on Thornwood Court, according to police. The bullet struck her in the upper torso near her collarbone, West Chester Twp. officials told this news outlet today.
The teen was taken by ambulance to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, Wilson said.
There are no charges filed at this time, and the incident remains under investigation.
