The new restaurant will be a prototype for what Red Robin officials call its “brand transformation initiative.” It will be constructed adjacent to a LongHorn Steakhouse that opened last year.
Greg Shackelford, Vandalia’s assistant city manager, said city officials are “very excited to see development continue along the Vandalia portion of Miller Lane. We see that area as a prime retail location, and this project continues the momentum created by Longhorn and Ruby Tuesday.”
Building plans have been approved, and a construction permit has been issued, a Vandalia spokesman said.
