Rep. Turner Heads To Kosovo For Thanksgiving

While many residents of the Miami Valley will be having Thanksgiving at home with family, local congressman Mike Turner will be far from home with American troops

Turner and his wife, Lori, will be visiting Ohio National Guard troops in Kosovo to support our men and women in uniform. They will also be taking some important items along with them.

Sixth grade Trotwood students will be sending them letters, poems and other items with Turner to the troops in Kosovo.

The students were given the project as a class assignment and their teacher said they approached the project with great enthusiasm and they are hoping to hear back from the troops in Kosovo.

Turner is no stranger to Kosovo. He has been there several times on diplomatic missions. He was there last summer to see the improvements that were made since the civil war was resolved and the peace accord was put into effect.

Turner will be leaving Wednesday for Kosovo, along with Rep. Dave Hobson and Rep. John Boehner. Hobson is taking the soldiers a sweet taste from home – peanut butter buckeyes.
