News Center 7 has known for a while that Donahue was charged with theft and forgery, thanks to a report from the Beavercreek Police Department, but what was not known was how she got her hands on the money.
Stahl Vision is well known for its Lasik eye surgery, which can cost as much as $5,000.
According to its website, Stahl Vision offers a number of payment plans to its customers, and prosecutors said that members of the clergy receive a substantial discount.
Prosecutors said that Donahue took advantage of the discount and that she would keep the money given to her by customers who had Lasik surgery by writing out a receipt claiming that they were clergy and that their Lasik was free.
According to prosecutors, Donahue manage to embezzle a total of $403,110 over a couple of years.
News Center 7 tried to contact Donahue but did not receive an answer from her.
Prosecutors said Donahue is facing a maximum of 10 years in prison. Her next court date is scheduled for next week.
Donahue is not in jail.
