Ohio Senate candidate collapses during press conference

A Cincinnati councilman who ran for U.S. Senate says he is fine after collapsing during a news conference at city hall.

Emergency medical help was called Tuesday morning for 31-year-old P.G. Sittenfeld but left after he revived. News reporters at the scene said he collapsed, but soon was talking and back on his feet. Sittenfeld says he had felt overheated and suddenly passed out and took “a tumble.”

He said he expected to return Tuesday afternoon for a committee hearing.

Sittenfeld ran an upstart campaign for the Senate, losing the March 15 Democratic primary to former Gov. Ted Strickland. Strickland faces GOP incumbent Rob Portman in November.
