Ohio University has suspended all Interfraternity Council (IFC) chapters after receiving allegations that seven of the 15 fraternities have engaged in hazing activities, OU announced Thursday.

The OU Dean of Students sent a letter to all chapter presidents Thursday notifying them of the suspension.

The letter referenced the expulsion of Sigma Pi last year after hazing, and two chapters being placed on cease-and-desist earlier this week after allegations of hazing new members.

The university said the remaining chapters with hazing allegations will received a cease-and-desist order within the next few days.

The letter also states, “members of Multicultural Greek Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council and Women’s Panhellenic Association organizations will be notified of the suspension as well and will be expected to honor it.”
