Officers catch suspect who stole pizza truck, crashed on I-70 East

UPDATE @ 4 a.m.:

A suspect stole a pizza delivery truck and crashed into a guard rail on I-70 Eastbound, officials said.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle on South Limestone Street, but the vehicle fled onto the highway.

After the suspect crashed the vehicle, they fled the scene. Officers caught the suspect near East Possum Road and railroad tracks.

INITIAL REPORT:

A suspect has reportedly fled the scene after a pursuit that ended on I-70 Eastbound in Clark County near Springfield.

Ohio State Highway Patrol dispatchers said that Springfield police initiated the pursuit and that troopers were assisting to search for the suspect.

I-70 Eastbound is restricted in the area as troopers and police search for the suspect.

Initial reports indicate that the vehicle involved may have struck a guard rail and caught fire.
