Deputies and officers have spent the past couple of months doing around the clock patrols at Third and Main streets. The increased police presence is to help curb crime in the area.
Officers took two adults men into custody near Fifth and Main streets, but getting them into handcuffs was not easy. Authorities said after a brief foot chase, police had to use Taser guns to bring the men under control.
Authorities said they found nearly 13 rocks of crack cocaine and hundred of dollars of cash on the men. The men will likely face charges for felony drug possession and resisting arrest.
Police said both of the men also had other felony outstanding warrants unrelated to Monday’s events.
