Tennessee firefighters rescue dog from house fire

Tennessee firefighters rescued a dog from a house fire Sunday evening, the Chattanooga Times Free Press reported.

Tri-Community Volunteer firefighters responded to the blaze in the Chattanooga suburb of Ooltewah, the newspaper reported. Firefighters used 2,000 feet of hose to put the fire out within several minutes, WTVC reported.

During a secondary search, firefighters found a dog in a bedroom, the television station reported. The dog was given oxygen and is expected to survive, the Times Free Press reported. Another dog did not survive the fire, the newspaper reported.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated, WTC reported. The owner was not home when the fire broke out, according to the television station.
