3 things to know about I-75 traffic flip

1. Construction Starting

The second phase of I-75 construction project will take place Thursday starting at 8 p.m. The most affected areas will be between Third and Main streets with multiple lanes and exits closed in the area. Commuters can expect some ramp closures to extend until early Saturday.

2. Traffic Pattern

The same number of lanes will be available to drivers; however, they need to be aware of a new traffic pattern, according to Ohio Department of Transportation spokesperson Mandi Dillon. Drivers will be driving on the newly completed northbound lanes until the project is completed.

3. Project’s End

Construction for the five-mile strip of interstate is ahead of schedule and should be completed this year. If the contractor, Kokosing Construction Company, finishes by Sept. 1, the company could earn a $3 million bonus.
