Johnson said that three students are two off-campus males and one on-campus female student.
She said that it is a Type A influenza, probably H1N1, often referred to as Swine Flu. Since it is a new strain of flu, it is highly contagious and college-age people are among the most susceptible groups since their immune systems are not strong enough to ward off the flu.
While many are fearful of the flu, she said that most healthy people only get the flu symptoms without other problems. Flu-like symptoms along with other existing health issues are what cause problems, according to the CDC, she said.
