Urbana Police Investigate Apparent Murder-Suicide

Authorities said early Wednesday morning the bodies of a married couple were found lying in a pool of blood. They said the couple were victims of an apparent murder-suicide.

The bodies were found inside a home on Concord Street in Urbana. Now, authorities want to know what led up to the violence.

Family members gathered at the home of 46-year-old Melinda Gee. Police said it was inside her home where she was stabbed to death by her estranged husband.

Authorities said her family is very upset over the incident. Family members said the couple has a long history of domestic violence.

One family member said Gees husband had threatened to kill her.

Police said when officers arrived, the suspect, Curtis Belle, actually answered the door, but soon fell to his death from self-inflicted stab wounds.

Authorities said the stabbing deaths remain under investigation.
