Value City Closing Remaining Stores

The last Value City department store in the Miami Valley could be closing its doors.

The discount retailer, which is based out of Columbus filed for bankruptcy Monday and announced it will close all of its remaining stores.

The Value City on Woodman Drive in Dayton is the only store in the area right now and the company blames declining sales and a tight credit market for the downfall of the company.

Value City said it has 66 open stores and more than 4,500 employees in 14 states, including Ohio.

There is no word on when the Woodman Drive Value City closing might happen.
