Veteran Broadcaster Carl Day Dies

According to our partners at the Dayton Daily News, veteran Dayton broadcaster Carl Day has died. Close friend Dale Huffman confirmed that he passed away at the age of 72.

Day has been in Hospice in Dayton less than a week. He has been battling cancer, Huffman said.

“It’s been a rough couple of days for people who know Carl,” Huffman said of the men known as ‘The Voice of Dayton.’ “He was such a fighter. He fought to the end.”

Through his career, Day won seven Emmys, four of them were as Dayton's top news anchor.
