WATCH: NASA launches Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral

An unmanned cargo ship named for Ohio’s own John Glenn launched from Cape Canaveral Tuesday morning on its way to the International Space Station.

United Launch Alliance’s Atlas V rocket left the Florida launch pad about 11:11 a.m., and is expected to rendezvous with the space station Saturday morning.

More than 7,600 pounds of research components, crew supplies and hardware for the space laboratory is aboard.
