A Winter Weather Advisory will kick off the day beginning at 10 a.m. and continue into the night, said Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Eric Elwell.
Expect rain and wet roads during the morning with a change-over to freezing rain and sleet by midday. As temperatures drop through the day, precipitation will change over to all snow by early evening.
Roads will become hazardous especially after sunset as temperatures drop through the 20s.
Snow accumulations of around two to four inches will be likely with a few areas picking up higher amounts. Gusty winds will develop tonight causing some blowing and drifting snow and reduced visibilities.
Temperatures will fall into the teens by morning and hold nearly steady through Saturday with wind chills near zero or below zero. Some flurries will be possible Saturday and Sunday with another chance for accumulating snow on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
