Well-known area dentist cared for, caused smiles

William Borchers, a longtime dentist in Oakwood and Kettering who was also known for his presents and his community service, has died. He was 65.

Borchers graduated from Chaminade High School and dental school at Ohio State before establishing his practice in Oakwood and then moving to East Stroop Road, according to his obituary.

He was known for his creativity, making jewelry out of his dental tools and oil painting. He also created a series of illustrated children’s books with his daughter called “Adventures with Buster,” featuring his dalmation.

He was also known for gardening on the outside of his office.
