Sallie came to WHIO-TV after graduating from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Tx., with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism. She began as a reporter and then took over anchoring News Center 7’s Saturday morning and noon shows.
The Associated Press awarded Sallie with the 2002 National Edward R. Murrow Award for her investigation into Dayton Public Schools’ cell phone abuse.
Sallie is also a three-time Emmy award-winning reporter and has also received numerous other awards from the Associated Press and Society of Professional Journalist for her outstanding work and investigations.
Before leaving WHIO-TV, Sallie reported on stories from southern Montgomery County.
Sallie left WHIO-TV in April 2007 to become a full-time mother to son Trent who was born in November.
WHIO-TV wishes Sallie all the best in the next chapter of her life, and will be truly missed on News Center 7.
