Jessica Grieco was sentenced to eight years in prison, with credit for time served, in a Montgomery County courtroom Thursday afternoon.
Grieco, 33, pleaded guilty in October to involuntary manslaughter after an incident during which a man she called her fiance was shot and killed.
The charges stemmed from the March 21, 2017, shooting death of 32-year-old Peter Underwood.

Grieco told 911 dispatchers that she accidentally shot Underwood while trying to unload a gun to keep him from killing himself.
She originally was charged with reckless homicide, involuntary manslaughter and domestic violence, to which she pleaded not guilty in August 2017.
