Family found: Woman says she took photo of man, child playing at Notre Dame hour before fire

A woman in Paris was looking for a man and a little girl she said she photographed shortly before the fire at Notre Dame Cathedral started.

Brooke Windsor said she snapped the photo of the stranger and the little girl, who she believes may be a father and daughter, about an hour before the fire was spotted, the BBC reported.

She's reached out on Twitter hoping that social media can help.

Amazingly, they've been found, ABC News reported. But the father in the photo has asked not to release their names. Windsor said the father told her that he "will find a special place for it," ABC News reported.

The photo, which was taken at 5:57 p.m. local time, had been retweeted more than 225,000 times by Thursday afternoon.

After taking the photo, Windsor, who is visiting Paris from Michigan, according to the BBC, walked to the Louvre and that's where she and her companions noticed smoke.

The structure of the cathedral survived the blaze, but officials said there are "some vulnerabilities," CNN reported.

Many relics and works of art were saved from the flames, including the Crown of Thorns, which is believed to be the crown placed on Jesus head, according to CNN.
