Well, actually, we HAVE heard of Krispy Krunchy Chicken, because there are multiple locations in the Dayton, Springfield and Cincinnati areas. But we get the point: Krispy Krunchy does tend to keep a lower profile than most other fried chicken chains, and its stores are off the beaten path, often in gas station convenience stores.

We’re not sure about the steady-architecture part, but we know that Krispy Krunchy has some big fans, judging from lines we’ve seen locally, especially at its Kettering location.

According to Krispy Kruncy Chicken’s web site, there are three Krispy Krunchy locations in Montgomery County: 100 N. James H McGee Blvd. in Dayton; in the Town & Country Shell station at 3960 Far Hills Ave. at Strooop Road in Kettering; and at the Germantown Shell (Kasey’s Gas Mart) at 1341 W. Market St. in Germantown.
In Springfield, a Krispy Krunchy can be found at Doc's Drive Thru & Grocery at 908 W. North St. And there are three Krispy Krunchy locations inside the I-275 beltway in northern Cincinnati. You can check for Krispy Krunchy locations on the chain's web site.

The chain operates about 2,300 retail locations in 41 states, and in Malaysia and American Samoa. Established in 1989, Krispy Krunchy Chicken was developed out of the founder’s convenience store chain. Its menu includes signature dishes of Original, Krispy and Cajun Sweet & Sour Wings; Krispy Shrimp and Fish; Red Beans and Rice; Jambalaya; Mashed Potatoes & Cajun Gravy; Mac-N-Cheese; Boudin Bites (Cajun rice balls) and Honey Butter Biscuits, according to a release.
