BARKER, Doris M.

Age 86, transitioned to be with the Lord December 12, 2020. A lifelong resident of Dayton,

Doris was born February 1, 1934, to the late Walter

Garfield and Maggie Mae (Edge) Barker. She graduated from Dunbar High School and looked forward to attending the Alumni reunions and reacquainting with old friends. But Doris' real passion was for the Lord which she illustrated by being a living example of what it means to be a believer and follower of Jesus Christ. She also showed this in caring for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities at the Stillwater Health Center until her retirement. Doris was a faithful member of Revival Center Ministries and enjoyed community with the Senior Saints organization. Preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Walter Cornelius Barker and Wayman Franklin Barker; sister, Lillian Jackson. Doris leaves to cherish her memory her loving sister, Mildred Begley; devoted nieces, Terra (John) Richardson of Henrico, VA, and Lydia Adams of Centerville, OH; nephews, Darryl Crutcher, Gerald Crutcher, Wayman Barker Jr. and Anthony Barker, all of Dayton; great-nieces, Jessica Sanders of Richmond, VA, Valerie Brown of Centerville, OH, Danielle Crutcher and Krystal Barker of Dayton; great-nephews, Christopher (Kathy) Brown, Wayman Barker III, Anthony Barker Jr., Ja'Michael Barker, all of Dayton; a host of other close family members and friends. Private graveside service at West Memory Gardens, Moraine, OH. Arrangements entrusted to House of Wheat Funeral Home, Inc.
