Cope, Barbara J.

Cope, Barbara J.

Pastor Barbara J. Cope, age 82 of Hamilton, Ohio crossed the finish line and received her heavenly reward on Saturday October 7, 2023. She was born September 28th, 1941, in Morgan Twp. Ohio to Lester and Josephine McConnell. She is survived by her daughter Rev. Stephanie L, Brown, sister Linda Weaver, Brother Bob (Betty) McConnell, niece Mellissa Wolf, great nephew Dalton Wolf, and many other family members. Pastor Barb was known to some as Miss Barb, Momma, or Nana, no matter what you knew her by you knew she was a kind hearted woman on a mission from God to help the North End of Hamilton, Ohio. Every person in the North End she considered one of her KIDZ. She was ordained in 1998 and in 2000 Pastor Barb opened Kellys House of Love with the hopes of making a difference in others lives. Kellys House is named after a young woman that lost her battle with depression. God gave Pastor Barb the title Kellys House of Love and told her to hang Kelly's picture on the wall so that when times were hard she would remember that there were many more "Kelly's" out there that needed her. That is just what she did and what Kellys House will continue to do in the days ahead. Pastor Barb advocated for all of her KIDZ and through many donations was able to have the playground that sits directly across from Kelly's House built so they would have a safe place to play and she could watch over them. While this playground has a different name today she always called it her ANGELIC PARK. There are many other things that Pastor Barb did in her life. Too numerous to list but the most important and what she should be remembered for is her "legacy of love". Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio 45013 on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 12:00 PM with Rev. Jake Jacobs and Rev. Donnie Begley officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Kellys House of Love, 701 Heaton Street, Hamilton, Ohio 45011. The family asks that those attending do not wear black, and instead wear bright colored clothing or purple. There will be an Open-Door Celebration of life all day following services. This will take place at Kelly's House of love. EVERYONE IS WELCOME
