DAWSON, King Emanuel

Age 72, born August 27, 1949, in Macon, Georgia, then

departed into eternal rest on October 14, 2021. King was baptized at an early age and found joy serving in various ministries within the church but enjoyed cooking for church events most of all. He admirably served his country as a member of the United States Navy. In the summer of 1968, King met the love of his life Janice and married June 5, 1971. Their union brought forth two children, Katina and Jason. King was preceded in death by his parents Ulysses Dawson and Agnes (neé Hill) Dawson; father and mother-in-law Vargis C. Sr. and Elizabeth (neé Lee) Reid; beloved friends Charles Hardy and Donald Mason. His memory will be forever cherished by his loving wife of 50 years, Janice Reid Dawson; daughter Katina Dawson Knox; son Jason (Denee) Dawson; brother Ulysses (Carolyn) Dawson; sisters-in-law Elizabeth Ann Bush, Lucy (John) Simes, and Judy (Kenneth) Davis; grandchildren Carlos Knox, Jr., Kaelyn

"Lizzie" Knox, and Caleb Dawson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. In honor of King's memory and his enduring battle with kidney disease, in lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions be made in his

honor to The National Kidney Foundation. Condolences and fond memories may be shared at DaytonFunerals.com.
