MARWEHE, Neil R.
Neil R. Marwehe, age 81, of Hamilton, Ohio, passed away on December 13, 2020. He was born on May 20, 1939, in
Hamilton, Ohio, to Martin and Evelyn Marwehe. A 1957 graduate of Hamilton High School he married the love of his life Eileen (Dicks) in 1959.
Neil proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961-1965 in San Antonio, Texas, and returned home to begin his life as a husband and father.
A graduate of the Gephardt Art Academy he pursued a career in the creative design field as a graphic designer. Ultimately working for several design firms that included clients such as P&G and Kenner Toys. His package designs for everything from soap to the six-million-dollar man was used on multiple national accounts.
A lifelong outdoor enthusiast led him to move to Sevierville, Tennessee in 1982 where he designed and built his own homes on a small piece of wooded paradise.
During his time in Tennessee he became the art director for the Smokey Mountain Magazine as well as a free-lance
designer for many local businesses, including Dollywood.
A move back to Hamilton came in 2002 to be near his son and family. There he held jobs as a driver for UTS and KOI. In
October of 2020 he and Eileen celebrated 61 years of
marriage.
Neil was an immensely talented and creative person who loved art, architecture and creating sculptures, furniture, and model building. His love of the outdoors was enjoyed through hiking, canoeing and bird watching. All of which he passed on through his son and granddaughters. He loved old Fords, Miller Beer, a good vodka martini and a sense of ribald humor. Loved and respected by many he will always be remembered as a loving and devoted husband to Eileen, father to Troy (Kim), Grandfather to Kaitlin and Shannon, and great grandfather to Paige.
The family is planning to hold a celebration of life at a future date when larger gatherings are safer to attend. Those who wish may contribute to the Animal Friends Humane Society or the Cincinnati V.A.M.C.
