Newport Aquarium announces plans to reopen and what will be different

Newport Aquarium has announced its plans to reopen beginning June 22, as well as new policies that will be in place to ensure safety and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The aquarium, located just over the border in Kentucky, will open first to passholders only beginning June 22 and will open to the general public beginning June 25.

Here are some of the biggest changes guests can expect:

-- Daily capacity will be limited. Passholders and general admission guests will be required to reserve a date and time.

-- Employees and visitors must have a temperature screening and wear a mask (age 3 and up).
