Skyline unleashes its ‘free extra cheese’ guns on Gold Star

The chili wars are heating up.

Skyline Chili, locked into eternal battle with Gold Star Chili for Cincy-style supremacy, announced today it is bringing back its "sky way" option that allows customers to pile on 50 percent more shredded cheddar cheese on top of the restaurant's traditional 3-way, 4-way and 5-way coneys and other dishes, at no additional charge.

It's a limited-time offer, though, good through Aug. 28. And yes, it does include Dayton-area locations, according to a Skyline release. The offer was also promoted in a Skyline Facebook post.

“Skyline fans can’t get enough of our delicious shredded cheese and often order an extra side of it to top their Coneys and Ways with even more flavor,” the statement said. “We’re excited to offer Skyline enthusiasts more of the cheese they love at no additional cost this summer. Through August 28, customers can pile on the cheese to make their Way — a Sky-Way.”

The Sky-Way is available to add to regular and large Ways from August 8-28 at participating Skyline Chili locations in Dayton, Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, and Louisville.

So is it the Sky-Way or the highway, to the nearest Gold Star? Only YOU can decide.
