It sounded too good to be true, to me at first, so naturally I had to check it out.
When we pulled up to the location on Keowee Street, there were two cars ahead of us, and I didn’t know if this little hut would be able to deliver at the pace of the McDonald’s and Burger King fast-food restaurants within eyeshot.

It wasn’t like our order was easy, either. We initially pulled up with the intention of just getting a few tacos, but once we took a look at the menu, we couldn’t help ourselves.
Victor's menu features a variety of Mexican specialties, including tacos, enchiladas, burritos, taquitos and tostadas, as well as omelets and breakfast burritos. Taco meat and burrito choices include Carne Asada (sliced beef), Carnitas (pork), Adobada (marinated pork), breaded fish, shrimp and grilled chicken.

We ended up going with an order of two crispy tacos with Carne Asada, chicken enchiladas, a grilled chicken taco bowl and an order of Supreme Nachos.
My apprehension was quickly converted to confidence as the Victor’s employee repeated our order back to us multiple times, ensuring it was correct.
As we were getting ready to pull out, we realized that we had almost forgotten to ask for sauces! The employee loaded us up with plenty of their house-made hot red and mild green, before we went on our way.
Both the food, and the service exceeded our expectations. And let me tell you, those sauces made the dishes.
We were really impressed that they were able to execute restaurant quality food, that we easily would have spent 30 minutes in a restaurant waiting for, all from that little shop and in less than half the time.
>> There’s something extra unique about newest Victor’s Taco shop
They didn’t cut corners, either. The taco shells were clearly homemade and fried within the shop. The enchilada sauce was robust and flavorful. The nachos were coated in queso and the toppings were adequately dispersed throughout, and not just on top.
The base level spice for the dishes we tried was suitable for any palate, but for those of you who (like me) want to kick it up a notch, the red sauce brings the heat. The green sauce was more tangy without being spicy, and would be perfect for someone looking to enhance the Mexican flavor of their dish.
Victor's Taco Shop won second place in Best of Dayton 2017 for the Best Taco category.

It's the fastest-growing taco chain in the Dayton with 5 locations in the area.
Victor's first three locations, in Dayton, Xenia and Fairborn, opened in former Rally's restaurants, all of which had been vacant for several years. Those locations are drive-thru and walk-up service only, with no seating. The Huber Heights Victor's offers counter service, seating for about 35, but has no drive-thru. Springfield's location is unique, as its the first Victor's in the region with a drive-thru option, as well as a sit-in dining area.
