Former Middie contributing for Ohio Dominican

Nick McKnight is having a solid season for the Ohio Dominican University football team.

The sophomore wide receiver and Middletown High School graduate has seven catches for 120 yards and a touchdown for the Panthers, who are 5-3 overall and 4-3 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Senior defensive lineman Ian Smercina (Lebanon) has 12 total tackles for ODU. Freshman lineman Michael Koehlke (Fenwick) has played in six games and made a tackle, and Joe Farrish (Monroe) is a sophomore O-lineman.

The Panthers host Tiffin on Saturday at 1 p.m.

• Junior offensive guard Adam Klever (Moeller) of Lebanon has started every game for Wittenberg, which stands 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference.

Senior defensive back Chris Stone (Springboro) has five total tackles in four games for the Tigers, who will travel to Denison on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Men’s golf

Sophomore Conor O'Hea (Middletown) helped Ohio Dominican finish tied for sixth place in the 12-team Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament Oct. 14-16 at Elyria Country Club.

O’Hea tied for 10th in the individual standings with a 7-over-par 78-74-71—223. He had an 18-hole average of 77.9 in four tournaments this fall.

Senior Ben Calvert (Carlisle) had an 80.6 average in two events, while junior Alex Nikias (Fenwick) had an 82.0 average in one tourney.

Women’s soccer

Freshman defender Emily Lessig (Fenwick) has played in every game off the bench for Hanover, which is 11-4-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The Panthers travel to Franklin (Ind.) today at 7:30 p.m.

• Junior midfielder/forward Macie Smith (Springboro) has played in nine games and made six starts for Mount St. Joseph, which is 2-12-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The Lions host Transylvania on Thursday at 7 p.m.
