WSU swimmers honored after dominating weekend

Two Wright State swimmers celebrated their final home meet of the season in triply triumphant fashion last Saturday as the men’s and women’s teams swept Cleveland State.

Sophomore Clement Quilliec won the 100-yard breaststroke (55.79), the 200 breast (2:03.59) and 200 individual medley (1:51.66) to lead the Raiders men’s team to a 205-95 victory, while junior Samantha Miller highlighted the women’s team’s 179-115 win by winning the 50 free (24.27), 100 free (53.78) and 200 free (1:57.33).

Miller also was a member of the victorious 400 free relay team.

The Horizon League honored both athletes as male and female swimmers of the week as their performances capped an impressive weekend that began with a meet at Xaiver the day before the CSU dual.

Against the Musketeers, Quilliec set the Xavier pool record in the 100 breast (57.02) and was a member of the winning 200 medley relay team that also set a pool record (1:33.08) in a 118-83.5 triumph.

Miller won the 100 free (52.84) and was a member of the winning 200 medley relay team. XU beat the WSU women 121.5-82.5.
