The University of Cincinnati announced Monday it has received a generous donation from Andy and JJ Dalton to help the fight against the coronavirus.

The Daltons have committed $150,000 to the UC Health Crisis Response Fund to help provide for the needs of the health system.

That is money that could help clinicians work to understand, treat and prevent the spread of COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus that has caused much of the economy to shut down since the middle of March.

“For the last nine years, Cincinnati has been our home, and we’ve seen what UC Health means to our friends and neighbors and our region. We’re honored to support our health care heroes in this fight,” Andy Dalton, the quarterback of the Cincinnati Bengals since 2011, said in a release from UC.
